ANSON, Captain (Charles Vernon)

ANSON, Captain (Charles Vernon)
(1841- ?)
UK writer, in the Royal Navy 1859-96. His future-WAR tale, The Great Anglo-American War of 1900 (1896 chap), warrants modest interest for the worldwide scope of the conflict and for the UK's use of a new invention to destroy San Francisco and win the war. For verisimilitude, the tale should perhaps have been set many years further into the future.
